“Happy New Year”

The weather over the last few days has been damp, cold, dull and misty. I managed to get into town last Wednesday, It was cold but bright and I took a few images on my walk in.

Frosty Top

Now I wouldn’t mind cleaning off the ice if this were mine !

Frosty Seat

Probably not a good idea to sit on this.

Low Winter Light Reflections

Really caught my eye.

Vacant Lot

Liked the building at the back, it looks good in colour too.

Happy New Year to everyone.

wow, these are fantastic finds!! the reflections of light are stunning… and that vacant lot is so Victorian, makes me think of Charles Dickens’s books when I look at it 🙂 how does it look in color? 🙂

Hello, Victorian is about the time these were built, there used to be many factories in the city, the one with the light reflections used to make suspenders and braces ! In colour the building at the back is a dark reddish colour. Hope that voice of yours is getting better. :>)

I thought the building with the light reflections was a bank… looks like one 🙂
suspenders and braces are clothing articles, right? (at least google says so 🙂
no voice on this end yet… you should have seen me trying to order coffee at a cafe today… mission impossible lol 🙂

Some of the Victorian factories were really fantastic buildings, probably not so nice to work in though, It’s an apartment block nowadays. Yes they are clothing articles for holding up your trousers and socks ! Leicester was a very big producer of all types of hosiery and clothing. Sounds like you need a whiskey to kill those germs off. :>)

there must be something terribly wrong in the Bulgarian education if I can recognize Victorian architecture but have to google simple words such as hosiery lol :)) this is all so interesting, you should be writing more in your posts too, conspicari 🙂

I’m a tea-totaller who drinks a glass of wine only on occasions… maybe this is why I’ve become susceptible to those germs lol… I should be considering the whiskey idea seriously 😀

The English language can be very difficult, so many words for the same thing and so many words that sound the same. You would really laugh if I tried Bulgarian. :>))
