The skies turned a soft Orange colour today, it’s the tail end of Hurricane Ophelia. Fortunately the wind speeds are not too high in my part of the UK, but other parts of the country have not been so lucky. The Orange skies are apparently being caused by the debris and dust from forest fires in Portugal and Spain.
I had just cut the lawn for (hopefully) the last time this year, the camera’s white balance had a bit of a job getting it right.
The fungi are quite orange in colour anyway but the light gave them a lovely glow.
read about it on the news! I’m glad the wind was not very strong where you are. That orange sky is bizarre…

Thank you. We were lucky, blustery last night, but a bright sunny day today. The north west got the worst of it.

Beautiful! Even it is caused by Ophelia! We had that beautiful red sun a few days ago in Latvia! Also thanks to Ophelia!

Nice that you experienced and shared it 🙂 The red sun also was strange.. I recalled that I’ve seen the red sun before. Early, foggy winter morning it was…

No I’m sure they are not, they are growing on old tree roots in my garden, I wouldn’t dare to try and eat them. 😐

They look interesting and beautiful… I can hear them say: “Eat me, Eat me!”. 🙂 And that’s never good 😀 for example Fly agaric

A very strange day. The birds stopped singing, it reminded me of the partial eclipse when the light dimmed a few years back

Yes, I never thought of it that way.
