There have been big changes for the group of cats (mother cat, two female kittens and a male kitten) that my neighbour has been taking care of. I can’t believe it was July last year when they first appeared on the scene. They have all grown into fine looking cats, and are really gentle and affectionate. She contacted Cats Protection to see if they could help neuter and re-home them, a volunteer from the local branch visited yesterday and took two of the cats for neutering.
I’m guessing this one is the male.
I felt really sad that they were probably going to be split up, and will miss seeing them around, but cats are pretty resilient creatures and often prefer to be on their own. They have been such a great comfort to my neighbour who is partially disabled, I know she will miss them terribly. My two cats though will be pleased/relieved as mum and the kittens had been wandering into my garden along with five visiting Tom cats !!!!!
She is going to keep this one, she’s such a sweetie and gets on with her own cat.
I have noticed quite a change in the behaviour of my own cats as the Tom’s and kittens appeared in my/their garden, they haven’t been going out so much, and unless I’m out in the garden come back in very quickly. Last night Fleur (out of character) started scratching at the carpet, I said No in a loud firm voice and looked straight at her, she immediately jumped on to the arm of the sofa and sidled up to me, and very gently touched my nose with hers, well what do you do !!!!
