Too Hot For A Fur Coat

30 deg C today, the cats are not enjoying it, not really the weather for a fur coat.

Mimi eating some grass, she’s moulting like mad, and I’m having to brush her everyday, she’s not too sure if she likes being brushed.

Fleur, Mimi’s mum trying to keep cool, her coat is finer and not so thick as her daughters.

Now the Bee’s on my Lavender don’t seem to mind having a fur coat.

He comes in almost everyday now for breakfast and late night supper. Such a lovely gentle cat, and he chatters away while he’s waiting for his meal.

Poor little thing. I agree with Blosslyn … he’s lucky to have you. He’s such a handsome guy.

It’s been really hot here too, but my cat prefers to be outside when the AC is on. I can’t figure it out. He has a couple of favourite hidey spots deep in the shrubs in the shade and he sleeps away the heat of the day in a little hole he seems to have dug for himself. .

Fleur is normally under one of the shrubs for the day. Mimi moves around a bit. I wonder if the air con is noisy in cat hearing frequency. According to the news It was the hottest day so far this year in the UK.

I’ve been wondering for a while why he doesn’t like the AC and I’ve heard others say the same thing about their dogs. I thought maybe it had something to do with the smells – or lack thereof. AC seems to strip the air of any scent. When it’s cooler outside and the windows are open, he’s happy to have his afternoon nap indoors.
