Well I still haven’t developed any film, and now have a lovely cold and tickly cough, serves me right for drinking beer and walking home in the winter weather. So here’s another two images from last November at Launde Abbey.

Thursday Doors

Five Bar Gate (I know it’s not really a door) A couple of months back the weather was kind and so I took a drive to one of my favourite places, Launde Abbey. It gave me an opportunity to try out a new to me second hand lens. It was a lovely day and I always find the Abbey and grounds so peaceful and relaxing.
Back On The Road
04-06-19
At last I’m back on the road, managed to find a car that hadn’t got spaceship mileage, been used as a minicab or had multiple owners, can’t believe it’s been over 3 years since I was behind the wheel. Picked the car up on June 1st with some trepidation, could I still drive OK, shouldn’t have worried it was as if it had just been a few days since I last drove.
Golfing
To celebrate I took a drive to Launde Abbey just a short 30 mile round trip, it was so nice to travel through the countryside, all lovely and green with the rain we have had lately. Took a few images while I was there, wasn’t really in a photo mood, too excited about being on the road again.
Day Of The Triffids
In The Walled Garden
Caterpillar Heaven
Launde Abbey is such a calm and peaceful place, I can see why people visit and go on retreat in the cabins they have in the grounds, also it has a really good Tea Room.
Friday trip to town
23-09-2016
Actually took the bus to town this time so I could walk out to an area I haven’t visited for years, Leicester’s Abbey Park.
Bat Brolly
Well it looked bat like to me.
Abbey of St Mary of the Meadows
According to the information board the Abbey was founded in about 1143 and closed in 1538 by Henry v111 (who else !) so it lasted for nearly 400 years.
The Abbey Church ruins
The Gate House
I then got besotted with a modernish door I found just behind the Gate House !
I also took along a film camera with me, hopefully should have processed the film by tomorrow (Sunday).
A few more from the Abbey
Sequoia I couldn’t believe it when I saw the Sequoia in the grounds of the Abbey. It brought back happy memories of when I visited the Giant Redwoods in Northern California.
Old tree stump & cross
There were quite a few crosses with numbered plaques around the grounds, must find out what they are !
HDR FlareThe Sigma DP1 produces some strange colours when shooting towards the sun, but I like this one.
Hills & Mole Hills
There are actually lots of Mole hills at the top of the hill !!! I couldn’t decide between the colour or Black & White ?
Green Gate
I can’t resist photographing a good door or gate.
Abbey
A good day today, a friend turned up and suggested a drive out to Launde Abbey, haven’t been there for years. The weather was great and so was the Abbey and grounds.
