The weather took a turn for the better yesterday so I took a quick walk to town, cat treats and me treats were needed. Spring is definitely in the air, although today it’s windy and dull. 70 deg F promised for tomorrow, we’ll see. I managed to grab a few photo’s on my walk.
My Front Garden
I wish the rest of it looked like this.
Spotted on the Park, I liked the colour contrast.
These Cheered Me Up.
Two Black & White Images From The City
The advantage of the weather being cooler today is that my cat Fleur is curled up on my lap while I’m writing this, she’s lovely and warm and purring gently, bliss.
The weather has been so dull and dreary over the last few weeks, only 2 or 3 bright days. Spring is trying it’s best to come through, my lilac trees have lots of fresh green leaves waiting to open, warmer weather is forecast for next week.
I needed to go into the city yesterday to top up with cat treats and a few essentials for me. It was dull and drizzling on the walk in but I managed to get a few images with the Sigma.
Blossoms and a bit of Green
Mannequins (Parts Of )
I managed to shoot some film on the (few) bright days, I’ll post a few images over the weekend.
They say things happen in three’s, first my Sigma Camera’s shutter failed, then the hinge broke on the fridge door, and finally my TV refused to switch on. Sent the Sigma camera off for repair, it had to go back to Japan, arrived back last week. Called a TV repair man to come and have a look at the set, he said the software had corrupted, 15 minutes later it was restored and working as it should. The only thing I have to do now is get another fridge freezer, the choice is bewildering.
It was a lovely day yesterday (Monday) so I thought I’d take a walk and visit the arboretum again and check that the Sigma is working as it should, glad I went as the weather forecast for the next seven days is pretty awful.
Mind How You Go.
This warning marker is (was) on a twisty part of road, a few feet away there were bits of a cars front grill and headlamps.
St Denys Church
The church dates back to the 1200’s.
The Sigma seems to be OK, looking forward to more photo outings with it.
Before venturing into town this morning I checked my Sigma DP1, enough power in the battery, was the memory card in the camera ! When I switched it on everything worked except I couldn’t see anything through the lens, it was as if the lens cap was on. Information was on the screen, I could view photo’s on the memory card, but can’t capture an image. It’s had a lot of use and I bought it secondhand, so I’m not too upset. I’ll email Sigma UK tomorrow to see if it can be serviced.
Soft Touch Arts Pop Up Cafe
This is a great cafe that gives vulnerable young people and adults cooking and catering experience, with all income going directly back to supporting the charity’s cooking and catering projects.
Went for a quick walk to town this morning, needed some exercise and some treats, not to mention a box of cat food for the lovely cat family at my neighbours. The day was really bright and chilly, I was surprised how much colour some of the trees still had.
Love These Buildings
The one on the right was the last real department store in the city, sadly it closed earlier this year. I guess it will be turned into apartments.
Now With Snow !
The Christmas tree in the city centre has been given a coating snow, and nearby I saw a poster advertising that there would be an ice skating rink setup from early December in one of the squares, I’ve got to have a go !!!!!!!!
I tried a different way of processing these images from the Sigma DP1, Sigma software first, then import into my old copy of Photoshop elements, then export for web.
A few shots from my walks into town last week.
Christmas Tree & Clock Tower
The Christmas tree has arrived in the town, and it was a lovely sunny day.
Dare To Wear
Colours On a Dull Day
These were taken on the sigma DP1, I also took an old 120 film camera with me, will see If I can develop the film tomorrow, and if I get any images.
Couldn’t believe it, yesterday (Friday) was beautiful and sunny, so many dull days here in my part of the UK lately. Thought I’d make the best of it and take a walk to the University Botanic Gardens. I needed the exercise and wanted to get some images of the autumn colours, I packed my Sigma DP1 digital and Olympus OM101 film camera.
Here are some of the digital images from the Sigma, I’ll be getting the film shots processed next week.
These were just in from the entrance.
Lovely Greens again, this shot was an HDR.
While I was admiring this lovely Maple a women came and stood next to me and commented on the beautiful colour. I turned to speak to her and was immediately stunned by her lovely Grey eyes, I was lost for words, if you knew me you would laugh as I am not noted as being the quiet sort, even though I think I am.
I even managed to get my Fungi fix !
and Blue skies.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the film images will look like.
