There have been big changes for the group of cats (mother cat, two female kittens and a male kitten) that my neighbour has been taking care of. I can’t believe it was July last year when they first appeared on the scene. They have all grown into fine looking cats, and are really gentle and affectionate. She contacted Cats Protection to see if they could help neuter and re-home them, a volunteer from the local branch visited yesterday and took two of the cats for neutering.
I’m guessing this one is the male.
I felt really sad that they were probably going to be split up, and will miss seeing them around, but cats are pretty resilient creatures and often prefer to be on their own. They have been such a great comfort to my neighbour who is partially disabled, I know she will miss them terribly. My two cats though will be pleased/relieved as mum and the kittens had been wandering into my garden along with five visiting Tom cats !!!!!
She is going to keep this one, she’s such a sweetie and gets on with her own cat.
I have noticed quite a change in the behaviour of my own cats as the Tom’s and kittens appeared in my/their garden, they haven’t been going out so much, and unless I’m out in the garden come back in very quickly. Last night Fleur (out of character) started scratching at the carpet, I said No in a loud firm voice and looked straight at her, she immediately jumped on to the arm of the sofa and sidled up to me, and very gently touched my nose with hers, well what do you do !!!!
After a quick walk to town this morning for a food a top up, and some film photography I popped round to my neighbours with a box of kitten food to see how the cat family are going on.
They have been a bit wary of me but this time I put some food down for them and they soon came around.
They can certainly eat. Mum is lower left.
They have all put on weight and look in great condition. The mother cat is really good with her kittens, very gentle and reassuring.
I dropped by at my neighbours today with a box of kitten food, and to check how the family are getting on.
They all seem to be putting on weight and are looking healthy, they were a bit wary of me and the tabby kitten was hiding under a shrub in the garden. Mother cat is attentive and gently makes reassuring physical contact with her youngsters.
I called round to my neighbour this morning with two boxes of kitten food. I took my phone so I could get some pictures of the lovely cats.
Please Feed Me
They all look well and are putting on weight. Apparently there’s another family of cats across the road !
Help With The Gardening ?
When I returned home I decided to start pruning the holly tree, within minutes my two helpers were supervising my efforts.
A family of cats have arrived in the gardens, much to the consternation of my two. I wish people would consider getting their cats sterilised. The family are lovely, 3 grey and white tabby’s a tiny dark tabby and their mum. I managed to get a few photographs of them today taken through glass and really cropped in so the quality is not great.
Mum checking up on them.
Daringly approaching my two girls.
I fed them this morning and a neighbour has fed them a few times today, I’m a bit worried as I haven’t seen the little dark tabby, I hope it’s OK.
