Bring The Paint #2

My Photo Buddies and I were a little bit early for the “Bring The Paint” display in the town last time we met up. So a couple of weeks ago we decided to see what progress had been made, and it gave us a chance catch up and have coffee and cake at one of our favourite coffee shops.

From our first visit. The guys painting the artwork were suspended in the cradle at the top of the building, made me dizzy just looking at them.

The painting now looks complete, it depicts some of what the city is known for, at the very top a Fox representing the local football team Leicester City (The Foxes), an Astronaut for the National Space Centre in the city, not sure what the third artwork is, but the last one is a Tiger representing the Leicester Tigers Rugby football club.

Got to admire the guys who painted this artwork dangling from the side of the building in a small cradle.

Bring The Paint

It’s the “Bring The Paint” event in my home town this month. Met up with my Photo Buddies last week and we had a walk around some of the areas that have been painted. We were so lucky with the weather, as it’s been really cold and dull for June.

Taken the week before, we were a bit too early !

I used my old Sigma DP1 to take these images, but really struggled to see the screen at times. If we go back next week (weather permitting) I’ll take one of my old Olympus cameras with a viewfinder.

Painting The Town

Met up with the PhotoBudies last week to have a walk around the cultural quarter of the town, and have a look at the new street art going up. Because of the variable weather we have had recently (I guess) they had only just started their artwork, but it was a lovely sunny warm day and it was great to just walk around. I took along a film camera and my Sigma DP1.

PhotoWalk

Met up with my PhotoWalk buddies on Friday, it was a lovely sunny day. So after a cup of coffee or two and a catch up we headed down to the canal area. I had my Sigma digital and 2 film cameras with me.

It was lovely to see the new spring growth.

We then moved onto the old canal industrial area to look at some street (canal) art.

I always like looking behind the factories for some unintentional art.
